·        Aims to extend computer infrastructure & connectivity.

·        To transform education system, teachers & students.

·        IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bombay are working as partner institutes to improve the teaching skills of engineering college teachers of the country in core Engineering and Science subjects.

The components of this mission:

•      100% contribution from Centre for content generation.

•      75% contribution from the Centre and 25% from States/Institutions for connectivity.

•      50% contribution from Centre for the Access Devices (Aakash devices).

Features of mission:

•      Platform for sharing of ideas & techniques & pooling of knowledge resources.

•      Spreading digital literacy for teacher empowerment.

•      Standardization & quality assurance of e – contents to make them world class .

•      Single window for primary to PG education .

•      Encouraging teachers to be able on the net to guide learners .
